Ghost Stories: A Guided Tour into the Supernatural
Join us at the House of Collections on Museum Night for an eerie and fascinating journey into Icelandic ghost lore. Folklorist Dagrún Ósk Jónsdóttir will delve into the world of spirits, uncovering the many types of ghosts found in Iceland, including revenants, restless souls, outcast spirits, and money-demons.
Listen to a selection of chilling ghost stories and learn practical tips from Dagrún—how to recognize ghosts on the road, summon them (if you dare), and most importantly, how to break free from their grasp.

These two acclaimed artists have captivated audiences across Iceland with their unique musical artistry. During this special performance, they will present songs from their albums along with original compositions.

Guided Tour: Intimacies of the Everyday
Join us on Museum Night for a guided tour of the exhibition The Intimacy of the Everyday, led by photographer Einar Falur Ingólfsson.
This compelling exhibition features over 60 photographs by renowned international artists Agnieszka Sosnowska, Joakim Eskildsen, Niall McDiarmid, Orri Jónsson, and Sally Mann.
The works in Intimacies of the Everyday were selected from discrete series within each artist’s practice and represent decades-long and ongoing preoccupations with photographing the people and places closest to home. The exhibition is organized around the unifying idea that certain images can only be achieved by close, attentive, and sustained observation.

What Happens When a Painting Comes to Life?
And why does it matter?
Join us at the National Gallery of Iceland by the pond for an insightful exploration of painting, led by artist Birgir Snæbjörn Birgisson.
As part of the exhibition Looking Inward, Looking Outward: 140 years of the National Gallery of Iceland Birgir will guide visitors through a selection of carefully chosen paintings, discussing the creative process behind them and their significance. The talk will also reference Martin Gayford’s recently published book on the subject.

Krummi Kids’ Club
Fly, Fly, Little Butterfly!
Join us for a fun-filled Krummi Kids’ Club workshop on Saturday at the House of Collections! Led by artist Ragnheiður Gestsdóttir, this creative workshop invites children to explore the magical world of art.
Inspired by Dodda Maggý’s installation DeCore, kids will craft their own beautiful butterflies to take home.
The National Gallery of Iceland hosts the Krummi Kids’ Club to provide children and their families with meaningful moments together—completely free of charge!
