Samtökin ‘78 and the National Gallery of Iceland invite queer families to a Twelfth Night celebration at the House of Collections, Hverfisgata 15, on Sunday, January 5th, from 2–4 p.m.
The event will feature an art workshop in the Reading Room where children can make their own wands, take photos, and try the elves’ magic potion. The Elf Queen will join us and lead a short outdoor gathering to sing New Year’s and elf songs while lighting starlights.
Guests are welcome to dress up for the occasion, maybe even as elves or trolls.
The museum is currently hosting an exhibition on Icelandic folktales in art, which visitors can enjoy during the event.
The House of Collections is wheelchair accessible, with an elevator to all exhibition halls, a museum shop, a cafeteria, and an accessible bathroom on the ground floor.
